Elena Oglivie honored as Under Armour All-American

Tuesday morning, Seto Hall, college counseling assembly. Students were treated to a surprise when senior classmate Elena Oglivie was recognized for earning Under Armour All-American volleyball honors. The four-time Star-Advertiser All-State Fab 15 and two-time player of the year selection was presented her All-American jersey. Oglivie, who will play at Stanford next season, will travel to Florida to play in the Dec. 31 match.

Defending state champ ‘Iolani opens at No. 1 in Girls Hoops Top 10

Defending state champion ‘Iolani is riding high already in the new girls basketball season. The Raiders are 4-0, including a lopsided win over Konawaena, and collected all 10 first-place votes in the Star-Advertiser Top 10 on Monday. Konawaena (3-1), which defeated Kamehameha and Maryknoll two weeks ago, is No. 2. It was unanimous among the 10 voters in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Football Top 10. The ILH finished 1-2 in the rankings for the first time since 2002 with four-time state champion Saint Louis (12-0) and ILH runner-up Punahou (10-2) finishing the season holding down the top two spots in the final rankings of 2019. Saint Louis will play 1 more game in Geico bowl series event in Las Vegas

The season isn’t over quite yet for four-time Hawaii state champion Saint Louis. The Crusaders will be playing in the Geico State Champions Bowl Series on either Dec. 21 or 22 in Las Vegas against an opponent who has yet to be determined. Saint Louis’ Jordan Botelho will represent Hawaii in All-American Bowl

Saint Louis linebacker Jordan Botelho, a Notre Dame commit, is going to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. He is the only invitee from Hawaii and was honored with an All-American Bowl jersey presentation at the school’s Mamiya Theatre on Monday morning. Botelho’s parents — Leon Botelho and Valerie Oh — were there at the presentation along with school president Glenn Medeiros. Coach Cal Lee was unable to attend the ceremony. For the first time ever, three different quarterbacks threw for more than 3,000 yards in a single season on Oahu. Saint Louis’ Jayden de Laura leads the group that includes Kaimuki sophomore Jayden Maiava and Moanalua senior RJ Javar. Saint Louis edges closer to Kahuku’s record number of top-tier state championships

With Friday night’s 45-6 win over Kahuku to end the prep football season, the Saint Louis Crusaders inched even closer to the Kahuku Red Raiders. The win brings a seventh koa trophy to Kalaepohaku, just one shy of Kahuku’s record of eight in the top-tier state championship.
