Kapolei will become first Oahu school to play a football game in Texas

The Kapolei football team will play a high school team from Texas this fall, according to Hurricanes coach Darren Hernandez. Kapolei will visit Fort Worth, Texas, for a Sept. 4 game against Nolan Catholic, marking the first time a football school from Oahu will play a team from Texas. “We travel every two years,” Hernandez said. “Initially, it was going to possibly be a trip to Boston or Washington, D.C. Kohala caps state title season by landing in final Top 10 poll

The throne was occupied by Kamehameha for six weeks. In the end, however, defending state champion Maryknoll reigns supreme again. Maryknoll collected all 10 first-place votes and closed the 2019-20 season at No. 1 in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Boys Basketball Top 10 after sweeping through the state tournament, notching a 46-33 win over Kamehameha in the final. We have made it to the finals of the Texaco/HHSAA State Wrestling Championships at the Blaisdell Arena, which will start at 3:30 p.m. Kamehameha sweeps the boys and girls team titles for the second year in a row.
