Wrestling rankings: Boys heavyweights (195+)

By Jerry Campany on January 2, 2014

Welcome to Hawaiiprepworld.com’s attempt at wrestling rankings. I can only rank based on results that I know, so please either email me directly at sapreps808@gmail.com or place your reports in the comments below. If I get one or two people saying that they saw a result, I will try my best to confirm it. If I get three, I will consider it fact. I try to take head-to-head into account first, but if a wrestler wears the label ‘state placer,’ […]

‘Iolani girls get a leg up on Punahou

By Jerry Campany on December 14, 2013

The ‘Iolani girls soccer team isn’t going to give away the ILH title without a fight. CJ Fajardo scored ‘Iolani’s lone goal in the 58th minute and the defending state champion beat the Buffanblu 1-0 on Friday at ‘Iolani. The loss was Punahou’s second in four days after Kamehameha beat the Buffanblu by the same crushing score of 1-0. It’s still early, so Punahou still has a realistic shot of returning to the state tournament. But an ILH championship will […]

Roundball wrap: Punahou looks prime

By Paul Honda on December 9, 2013

I saw as much as I possibly could. Thursday: four games at the James Alegre Invitational. Friday: three games at the Black & Gold Classic. Saturday: was busy at a car wash all day, but dragged my okole to Kailua and caught the title game between ‘Iolani and Kamehameha. Here’s what Pupule thinks. Punahou prime: The Buffanblu aren’t perfect by any means, but they’re running the floor, using fullcourt pressure to keep the tempo up. That win over Kalani in […]
