Campbell junior QB Blaine Hipa ready for Elite 11 regional

Blaine Hipa keeps working in silence. The Campbell quarterback’s actions are doing all the talking. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound junior received an invitation to the Elite 11 Regional, which will be on Oct. 25 in Portland, Ore. “I’m glad I got the opportunity to learn from the coaches,” Hipa said on Saturday. Blaine Hipa is due for some touchdown passes. Hipa, Campbell’s 6-3, 190-pound quarterback, will get some action next weekend at the UC Report Underclassmen Showcase in Las Vegas. “Yes, I’m going,” said Hipa, who has scholarship offers from Hawaii and Tennessee. “I don’t have family to stay with. In 1977 track and field coach Marlyn Burke was celebrated as Hawaii’s first female athletic director. On this day in 1979, the honeymoon was officially over.
