Maryknoll collected eight first-place votes to remain No. 1 in the Star-Advertiser Boys Basketball Top 10 on Monday. The Spartans (19-2, 5-1 Interscholastic League of Honolulu) arrived at the top spot a week ago for the first time this season. Ethan Erickson scored 13 points, including a go-ahead follow shot with 2:28 left, as Kahuku rallied for a 50-47 win over Roosevelt on Friday night at the Rough Riders’ gym. The OIA will have an allotment of five state-tournament berths in Division I boys basketball this season, losing a spot form its usual six, according to Hawaii High School Athletic Association executive director Chris Chun.
