After posting its second consecutive shutout on the field, the Mililani Trojans made enough of a case in a 49-0 win over Castle on Saturday to jump Punahou for the third spot in the latest Honolulu Star-Advertiser Football Top 10 released today.
The Trojans, who also own a forfeit win over Kaiser, have yet to give up a point this season as they hit the road to play Clayton Valley Charter (Calif.) on Friday.
Mililani finished one vote ahead of Punahou, which dropped to fourth despite a 23-7 win over Torrey Pines (Calif.) on Friday night at Aloha Stadium.
The Buffanblu defense has also been stout this season, giving up just two touchdowns in two games.
Saint Louis continued to hold serve as the unanimous No. 1 team in the state, followed by Kahuku.
Three of the 10 voters had the Trojans picked second, ahead of Kahuku, which allowed its first TD of the season in a 40-6 win over Moanalua.
Kamehameha, which handled Carson (Calif.) on Friday, 33-10, to improve to 3-0 heading into its ILH opener on Friday against Saint Louis, replaced Kapolei as the No. 5 team in the state.
The Warriors are ranked in the top five for the first time since Week 4 of last year.
Also moving up is Kailua, which is ranked sixth for the first time in the history of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top 10. The Surfriders were ranked No. 6 in the preseason Honolulu Star-Bulletin rankings in 2004.
Farrington, which began the season 0-2, scored a big win over Kapolei on Saturday and is back in the rankings at No. 7.
Kapolei, which is suddenly 2-2 after forfeiting a win over Castle and losing to the Govs, is tied for the No. 8 spot with Hilo. Division II Lahainaluna remains in the rankings at No. 10.
Other teams receiving votes are Waianae (14), Kapaa (six), Campbell (five) and Damien (one).

There’s no way mililani should’ve jumped punahou. They didn’t play anybody of note yet.
