10:50 — Waianae takes a knee and the Seariders have their first win of the season.
10:44 — Campbell’s drive extended by a facemask penalty. Mauga comes up with a sack but Kaipo keeps Campbell on the field for completions of 11 and 16 yards with 1:50 left. Kaipo to Tafai for 18 yards to the Waianae 13. Tafai gets to the 5 on a middle screen, but ineligible receiver call and subsequent unsportsmanlike conduct pushes Campbell all the way back to the 31 with :59 left. Time added, but two incomplete passs brings up fourth and 28 with 1:07 left. Deep ball incomplete. Waianae ball with 1:01 left.
10:31 — Rosario for 12 yards. After three short runs, Mauga picks up a huge fourth-down conversion with a 4 yard run. Delay of game pushes Waianae back and the drive stalls. Punt out of bounds at the Campbell 26 with 3:40 left.
10:22 — Campbell WR Vernon Etrata-Daite makes receptions for 17 and 14 yards. Adkins-Kupukaa for 14 then Kaipo hits Etrata-Daite down the left side for a 15-yard score. TOUCHDOWN CAMPBELL. PAT good. 9:48
10:13 — Zefften Thompson-Avilla stopped at the 1. Confusion in the backfield and Waianae calls timeout before fourth and goal. Mauga takes it around the left side. TOUCHDOWN WAIANAE. PAT good. 10:53
10:09 — Eteuati Lui runs up the middle twice to the Campbell 2 as the quarter ends. Seariders open the fourth quarter with third and goal.
10:02 — Waianae WR Sam Freeney comes back to pull in a deep ball from Tacgere for a 25-yard reception, the Searriders’ second completion tonight. Timeout Seariders on third and 9 from the Campbell 20, 1:10. Pass is incomplete, but Campbell called for a personal foul to extend the drive and give Waianae first and goal at the 10.
9:57 — Adkins-Kupukaa makes his sixth catch to pick up 7 yards. Mauga makes a stop for a 2-yard loss. After personal fouls on both teams, an incomplete pass on third down forces a Campbell punt. Waianae ball at midfield, 3:21.
9:52 — Waianae goes three and out and the punt goes into the end zone. 4:06.
9:48 — Adkins-Kupukaa makes an 11-yard reception, but Campbell stalls and the punt goes out of bounds at the Sabers 40, 5:42.
9:43 — Rosario opens the second half with a 9 yard run. The Seariders convert on third and 3 with their first completion of the game. On third and 1, Rosario breaks loose up the middle, keeps his balance and breaks away for a 40 yard TOUCHDOWN. Pass failed on the PAT. 8:36
9:12 — Adkins-Kupukaa gets to the 18 with his fourth reception. Faumui with a 12 yard run to the 6. Tafai gets the next three carries to the 2 to bring up fourth and goal with :36 left. Tafai gets the call on the left side but Mauga stuffs him for a loss. Waianae ball with :28 left. Seariders run out the clock and takes a lead into halftime.
9:05 — Waianae goes three and out and punts from its 11. A holding call wipes out a nice return by Adkins-Kupukaa. Campbell ball with 3:07 left in the half at the Waianae 35.
9:02 — Tyrese Tafai carries the ball on five consecutive plays for 27 yards. Tasi Faumui gets loose for a big run, but fumbles and Dayne Evangelista recovers for Waianae.
8:52 — Waianae goes three and out. Campbell takes over at its 18 and picks up a first down on a personal foul. After an 18-yard run by Tasi Faumui, Kaipo is hit and loses the ball, Waianae recovers, fumbles it away gain but Kanai Mauga scoops and scores for the Seariders. TOUCHDOWN WAIANAE. PAT good. 8:13
8:40 — The toss from Justin Tacgere to Rosario goes wild, Chanse Hoopai-Tafili scoops and scores from 6 yards out. TOUCHDOWN CAMPBELL. PAT good. end of the first quarter.
8:38 — Kaipo hits Viliami Vaimoui over the middle for a 29-yard gain to the Waianae 45. Tafai runs for another first down on two carries, but Waianae comes up with a fourth-down stop and takes over at its 28 with :08 left in the quarter.
8:25 — Rosario stopped just short of the 5 to bring up fourth and 1. Rosario picks up the first down. He finishes the drive with a 2-yard plunge. TOUCHDOWN WAIANAE. Seariders break through after two consecutive shutouts. PAT good 4:19.
8:20 — Krenston Kaipo connects with Tyrese Tafai down the seam for 23 yards, then again on a middle screen for 17 to get to midfield. The next three passes fall incomplete and Campbell punts. Sykler Kaleiohi fields it at his own 18, is cut off to his right, reverses field and gets loose down the right side for a 67-yard return to the Campbell 15.
8:13 — Both teams go to their headliners early. Pokii Adkins-Kupukaa opens the game with a 5-yard reception, but Campbell goes three and out. Rico Rosario picks up 4 yards on his first carry, but adds just one more and Waianae punts. 9:01.
8:05 — Campbell wins the toss and will receive.
7:35 — JV game ends in a 14-14 tie. Varsity coming up around 8 p.m.

NOTES: Campbell has won the past two meetings but has never won three straight. Campbell hasn’t visited Waianae since 2010, when it left Torii field with a 13-6 win. Waianae is 20-0 against Campbell when it scores more than 24 points and is 24-0 when it holds the Sabers under 13 points. No Campbell receiver has ever had three straight games with more than 100 receiving yards, Pokii Adkins-Kupukaa can do it this week. Receivers with back-to-back 100+ receiving games: Noah Esprecion in 2015 (he graduated), Jayce Bantolina in 2015 (he had 27 in his next game), Samson Anguay in 2009 (35 in his next game).

Waianae hasnt had a rusher go over 100 yards vs. Campbell since Jeremy Willes had 140 in 2012. Campbell hasn’t had a rusher go over 100 yards against Waianae since Joe Ubando had 134 in 1991, a span of 19 games, and hasn’t had a rusher gain more than 100 in Waianae since Dodge did it.
Darren Johnson is 3-3 all time against Waianae, but has never won in Waianae. His only trips there were in 1996 and 1997 in his first two years at Kailua. Walter Young has never beaten Campbell and never faced Johnson.
Waianae is sitting at 0-3 and hasnt started 0-4 since 2011. The last time the Seariders have lost four straight games at home was in the 2003-04 season. They closed out 2003 with a loss to Mililani and opened 2004 with losses to Leilehua, Kapolei and MIlilani, but there was a forfeit win over Campbell thrown in there that was scheduled to be played at home. That is a span of 686 days. 2004 is the only year they lost all of their home games, going 0-4.
The last three Campbell coaches all had winning records in their first year at the school: Amosa Amosa was 11-2 in 2008, Tumoana Kennessey was 8-2 in 2000 and Darren Hernandez was 6-3 in 1994.
Campbell quarterback Krenston Kaipo is second on Oahu in passing yards but has more interceptions (5) than touchdowns.

The brutal part of their schedule is done. I didn’t see Toto Mailo, must have been some lingering injury that kept him out.
