Hawaii is a popular destination, and it is becoming a popular football destination nowadays.

Four teams from the mainland played Hawaii teams and three of the visiting teams (Mission Viejo, Calif.; Villa Park, Calif.; and St. Margaret’s of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) won. The other visitor (Buckeye Union, Ariz.) lost a close one at No. 8 Kailua, 28-27.

Seven of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Top 10 teams were in action. The three Top 10 teams from the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (No. 1 Saint Louis, No. 3 Punahou and No. 7 Kamehameha) did not play.

In upcoming Week 4 action, three more mainland teams arrive to play here Friday — Valley Center, Calif., visits Kamehameha-Maui; Torrey Pines of San Diego takes on Punahou at Aloha Stadium; and Carson, Calif., meets Kamehameha at Kunuiakea Stadium.

Altogether, there were 19 games in Hawaii’s Week 3. All of the scores follow.
