Pilares to run an athletic camp at Damien

Kealoha Pilares, who played two seasons for the Carolina Panthers, will be running a camp at his alma mater, Damien, this summer. Honolulu Star-Advertiser file.

Former Damien football star Kealoha Pilares will be running his Athletic-Based Movement” camp at his alma mater with six sessions this summer.

The dates for ages 11-17 are June 4, 11, 25 and July 2, 9 and 16 at Damien. The cost is $120 for all six sessions.

Pilares also played for the University of Hawaii, the Carolina Panthers of the NFL for two seasons and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.

He rushed for 1,724 yards during his senior season with the Monarchs, which included a 300-yard rushing performance on 48 carries with five touchdowns in a loss to ‘Iolani. Pilares had one of his touchdowns come on a 76-yard kickoff return with three seconds remaining in the first half and then took a handoff 69 yards for a touchdown on the opening play of the third quarter.
