GAME NIGHT 9/9: Mililani/Nanakuli

A six-game slate on Oahu is set for Friday night with the most anticipation for the second game of an ILH doubleheader at Aloha Stadium.

No. 8 Mililani (3-1, 3-1 OIA Red) looks to bounce back from its worst loss in the OIA regular season since 2000 with a victory over winless Nanakuli (0-4, 0-3).

HISTORY: Mililani leads the all-time series 18-4-1 and has won 15 straight against the Golden Hawks.

10:01—Mililani 42, Nanakuli 0 Final

9:52—Kaine Park bursts up the middle for a 29-yard touchdown run. PAT good. Mililani up 42-0, 5:01 Q4.

9:38—Santiago hits a 29-yard field goal to extend Mililani’s lead to 35-0 and bring the running clock into effect.

9:23—Gabriel goes 5-for-5 on Mililani’s first drive of the third quarter and hits Dustin Gapusan for a 15-yd TD. PAT failed. Mililani leads 32-0, 8:48 Q3.

8:55—Following a Nanakuli punt, Gabriel connects with Chang on a 45-yard touchdown pass. PAT good. Nanakuli runs out the clock to end the first half. Mililani 26, Nanakuli 0 at halftime.


8:26—After the free kick, Mililani’s drive stalls at the Nanakuli 15, Damien Santiago connects on a 32-yd FG. Mililani leads 19-0, 5:58 Q2.

8:20—Nanakuli punt snap goes into the end zone and Mililani’s Asher Pilanca makes the tackle for a safety. Mililani up 16-0, 7:05 Q2.

8:16—Mililani running back Kailiohu Kila is helped from the field after picking up 17 yards on two carries. He’s replaced by Kilifi Malepeai, who picks up 9 on his first attempt. Trojans drive to the 5 and Malepeai takes a pitch and scores on third and goal. PAT good. Mililani leads 14-0, 7:40 Q2.

8:04—Mililani’s second field goal attempt of the night hits the left upright. Trojans’ lead remains 7-0.

7:58—Mililani 7, Nanakuli 0 end 1st quarter.

7:45—Both teams go three-and-out on their first possessions. Mililani drives 42 yards in six plays and takes the lead on Dillon Gabriel’s 24-yd TD pass to Ryan Chang down the left side. PAT good. Mililani up 7-0, 6:45 Q1.


7:33—Mililani wins the toss and will receive the opening kickoff in the Trojans’ second game in five days.

7:01 p.m.—Mililani wins the JV game 36-0. Varsity teams on the field for warmups ahead of Nanakui’s senior night game.

    Mililani needs to work on that Offense…. no running threat vs Kapolei= to worst Offensive showing in years….
