Mililani senior McKenzie Milton announced on Twitter Wednesday that he has decommitted from Hawaii and will instead sign with Central Florida.

“After a long tough process I’ve found in my heart that is best for me to decommit from UH,” Milton wrote on Twitter. “This fall I will be attending The University of Central Florida! Thank you for all the love and support God bless!”

Milton was the 2014 Honolulu Star-Advertiser offensive player of the year after leading the Trojans to their first state title. He dealt with a shoulder injury for much of his senior year yet still made the all-state second team.

Milton finished his career third all time with 7,303 passing yards, throwing for 81 touchdowns while completing 65.5 percent (512-for-782) of his passes in 34 games. He also rushed for 1,810 yards and 18 touchdowns.

I was honestly going to purchase season tickets for the first time ever for myself and my family to watch him and Timoteo. Sucks to see local kids fly away.

Hope he proves UH wrong for going after that dual threat QB from Cali that is an exact replica of Milton but 10 lbs heavier. No loyalty, smh!

Atta boy Milton you did fgure it out and like I’m more then sure that you didn’t think with your heart but your technical attributes along with all the numbers you’ll take to UCF;..you won’t regret it watch and see,…and I’m sure you can see it already over here and not over there.
Good luck and make your family and friends proud of you,…god bless.

Good news. He knew he wasn’t going to get playing time and he found a program that wants him to be the starter. Plus he’lol get national exposure and make a name for him self. Papakenzie can brag even more now

What I been saying to all the non-believers like it wasn’t about all Milon’s injuries but it’s where he can do better then his best and he sure has vision to see the big picture and that’s smart thinking whereas he’ll do even better not commiting to UH like home away is where he’ll mature and excel his love for the pigskin;…god bless you young man and may you get stronger and healthy like minimize them injuries by thinking smart OK.

  7. Paper Crane January 21, 2016 1:17 am

sorry about that,…correction,..how about “it wasn’t ll about Milton’s injuries….

UCF gets many high profile recruits. Pick a good major to carry you through life after football. The chances of him making the NFL or even starting at UCF aren’t very good.

wow, never thought Central Florida would recruit the islands. Guess got way more money nowadays in college football and schools can then recruit nationwide.

UCF didn’t win a game this past season. They have tough conference games against Temple, Houston, Cinci, and East Carolina.
My 3 picks for Milton would’ve been San Diego, Jackson State, or Saddleback.

Not a Mainlander, played Pop Warner in the 80s for the Kahala Patriots. Eventually played Vars for Kamehameha, we came in 3rd place behind Damien and St. Louis.

  16. Polo January 23, 2016 8:05 pm

@action jackson, we’ll than you must be small and weak minded. Kamehameha should’ve known, just like crabs in a buckett can’t see anyone getting ahead, always pulling them down

  17. Pukateet January 23, 2016 10:10 pm

Well being a graduate of Kamehameha schools my three pick for action Jackson would have been Hula halau of ka laulau (hula dancer), action Jackson and the quartets, and the city and county of honolulu fire department.

Those are nice 3 options. Can’t sing or dance that well. How about one Papa Johns “sign waver”, or the “greeter” @ Walmart?
