The 112-pound class on the girls side at the Officials wrestling tournament has turned into quite the Final Four.
The second day will begin with top seed Alexis Encinas of Lahainaluna vs. Campbell’s Kalissa Pundyke in one semifinal and Punahou’s Taryn Ichimura opposing Kayla Lono of Leilehua in the other.
All four of them are state placers and Encinas and Pundyke have won state titles in their careers.
Encinas started her day with a pin of Pac-Five’s Sydnee Ramirez in the second period and Pundyke pinned Kamehameha’s Alexis Posiulai in 1:35 before stopping highly regarded Macy Higa of Roosevelt in 5:37.
Lono pinned both of her opponents in the second period and Ichimura did the same, including a 33-second job on Chaelli Reyes of Moanalua in the first match.
