The top three teams in the state — and four of the top six — will be in action on Friday night at Aloha Stadium in the Division I semifinals of the 2015 First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships.

Saint Louis, the No. 2 seed behind Kahuku, remains on top of the latest Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top-10 rankings released Monday night with the Red Raiders sitting in second.

After walloping Hilo, 62-18, in last week’s first round with their quarterback, McKenzie Milton, playing for the first time after missing four games, the Mililani Trojans jumped Punahou for third in the poll with the Buffanblu fourth.

Two of the 14 voters in the poll gave the Trojans a first-place vote despite Mililani losing two games this year, including one with Milton fully healthy. Kahuku, which beat Mililani and is undefeated at 11-0, received four first-place votes while the Crusaders were ranked first on eight ballots.

Waianae, which faces Kahuku in Friday’s first semifinal, remained at No. 6 in the poll, trailing Kamehameha, which was fifth.

Farrington and Kapaa followed at No. 7 and No. 8 while OIA D-II champion Radford leapfrogged Baldwin into ninth. The Bears remained in the top 10 at No. 10 after falling, 21-6, to Waianae last Friday.

Kapaa hosts Lahainaluna at Vidinha Stadium on Saturday afternoon while Radford plays BIIF champion Konawaena, which beat ILH D-II champion Damien 42-33, on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Roosevelt.

Mililani, the defending state champion, was the toughest team to vote on according to the ballots. While Kyle Galdeira and Nck Abramo put them at No. 1, seven others had the Trojans ranked fourth. The other five voters all placed Mililani third.

Punahou was ranked third on five ballots and fourth on seven ballots, but also received two separate second-place votes behind Saint Louis.

Kahuku had four different voters placing it third, which is the lowest it appeared on any single ballot.

Ranking aren’t worth much, especially at this time of year. Basically rankings are opinions.

An adult commenting on how a teenage student athlete is going to get injured is disrespectful and ridiculous.

TO GoBigRed so instead of just pressing one button you like to lug your laptop over to the TV (unless you are running a 100 foot HDMI cable that will lose signal quality) then plug it in to the tv, and possibly have to plug it to the outlet for power, instead of just pressing one button to save a measly $30? I hope your download speeds are at least 100mbps or the buffering will kill you.

More like 40 at this point. Every time one new fuam show up with choke to say, guarantee das him. No protective password with 11 computers…full of it.

@good story but can someone change paper cranes password. Uncle talking too much bubbles. Haha just kidding

Homegrown, or 88, or Good Story, or GoBigRed, or whatever your new name is, definitely not the smartest or successful person in the world. Just more successful and smarter than you guys (88, Homegrown, Good Story, GoBigRed). I am starting to think you are following my lead and doing the same. I know, I know, I am the trendsetter on here and you guys, or should I say one guy is following my lead. At least be original and not make up multiple screen names. Last time I checked I am the pioneer of that and you doing the same is just tired and boring. Get your own fresh and innovative M.O.

@Realistic I believe you are in a category all your own. Maybe the moderators can chime in to confirm we are all different people. But continue to flatter yourself anyway. Don’t let us lowly people living in “reality” interrupt your party my friend!

@Lee Boy. After a very informative discussion with someone whose expertise and opinion on this matter I greatly trust, I’ve changed my mind.

I’m going with your boys over Mililani. Because ILH games are not televised I was not fully educated on the talent level of St Louis’ QB and WR who are “better than Milton and Timoteo.”

And the type of defense St Louis runs is a “perfect match for Mililani’s offense.” See? I can admit when I’ve been wrong.

When comparing St Louis’ defense vs Kahuku’s defense: Front 7s are about equal, but Kahuku has much better DBs. So it’ll be interesting to watch how Trojans and Crusaders secondaries adjust during the game. Gonna be a great game.

I think if it’s Kahuku vs St Louis it’s gonna be a defensive battle. But that can wait until next week. Still gotta win this week.

    GO.BIG.RED.

  10. 88 November 11, 2015 2:16 pm

The only thing Tagavailoa has on Milton is size. Milton is a straight up field general. Do you know any QB in Hawaii who calls the plays right there at the line of scrimmage? He calls the plays according to how the defense lines up. That’s some straight up Peyton Manning shet….. I’m a RR4Lyphe but you guys gottah recognize game when you see game and this kid from Mililani got game. It’s the 5’9 thing that has people doubting.

  11. GoBigRed November 11, 2015 3:06 pm

I don’t doubt Milton. I doubt Mililani’s defense… Specifically their ability (inability)to slow down St Louis’ offense enough so the Milton can work his magic. He is special no doubt.

I wish all teams good luck this weekend! Play hard, Play Safe and let’s remember that at the end of the day, these are the youth of Hawai’i and we all need to support them like. Whoever you are cheering for, cheer with all your heart! It will be a great game between St. Louis/Mililani and no matter what, they have done us all proud.

Both Mililani and St. Louis have pro’s and con’s and it all depends who you are cheering for will it really matter.

Good luck to all teams playing this weekend!

  13. Gobigred's friend November 11, 2015 5:07 pm

    Sorry 88,

He does not call his own plays. Everyone has a route already. Btw Tagovailoa doesnt only have size against milton. Accuracy, velocity, qb mechanics, etc….. People who believe this have already offered Tagovailoa. Usc, ucla, ole miss, utah, etc…………. He did not get these offered cause of his size. Unless you can offer him something??? Thats why only the academy schools offered Milton.cause you dont need to THROW! UH offered him but it’s as an ATHLETE. Stay off the XBOX!

  15. Good Story November 11, 2015 6:21 pm

I have to believe that Mckenzie’s experience will play a factor. Also on the radio this morning they mentioned the Jordan Iosefa will also not be playing. Add that to the amount of penalties St Louis seems to accumulate each game…I’m really hoping Mililani can pull it off.

  16. Good Story November 11, 2015 6:25 pm

    @ Realistic
We don’t need to make up “comrades” like you do. Go ahead and ask for verification from the moderator. You’re a joke.

  17. 88 November 11, 2015 6:58 pm

So if Tagavailoa was 5’9 you think colleges would still be knocking down his door to play QB? I think it is you who needs to stay off the XBOX.

  18. BGFL November 11, 2015 8:19 pm

He does not call the plays, but he does have the option to change the play at the line depending what the defense shows.

  19. Gobigred's friend November 11, 2015 8:24 pm

Tagovailoa is 6’0. That is not your normal qb size. He got those offers cause there are more things that he has. You said the only thing Tagovailoa has on Milton is size??? Yeah like I said, stay off the XBox cause you have no clue. Murray who is 5’9 and plays for Texas A&M?? Manziel?? Under 6’0???? Qb mechanics, vision, accuracy, etc…

  20. Paper Crane November 11, 2015 8:48 pm

OK now like he,…he, had to give up my password so now back on again like wouldn’t miss it like all you commenteers posting;..yet only about 44 hours to go with the first 4:30pm game between Kahuku and Waianae and like interesting to the watch the comments change as it gets closer to game day;…likesome will forget what they wrote in previous days like going from polite to arrogate except for Realistic like shim will change sides just to confuse you peeps;..so now getting ready my survey on how fans posting changes like before, during, and after;…like the ratings, the injuries, the penalties, along with the referees like whatever win or lose like what they commented only means at came from their gut (dream) feeling that’s not always honest thoughts coming from a pumped up fan,…eh it happens and it’s only smash mouth normal; anyway I’m back again painless and mobile like with no relapse of old age injuries,…later kay..

  21. Paper Crane November 11, 2015 10:20 pm

Eh wow,…like everybody went crash at 9:00pm must be football fans are following strict curfew like the varsity boys;…still it’s great to be back and like still on this same long winded page too;…so sweet dreams and like rest up from your posting like hoping non are suffering from posting PTSD and like awake and enjoy the new day,…later kay?

  22. 88 November 11, 2015 10:30 pm

    Who has the better stats?

  23. 88 November 11, 2015 10:44 pm

You gonna compare Tagavailoa to a kid that is 42-0 in his high school career and won 3 straight Texas State Titles? I think Murray had more TDs his senior year than both Tua and Milton put together. Stick to XBOX buddy

  24. Paper Crane November 11, 2015 11:18 pm

@88,…like even June Jones been working on Tagavailoa like feeding Taga with some QB’s pointers.

  25. Gobigred's friend November 12, 2015 12:12 am

88 put your xbox down. Not comparing Tua too anyone. Just pointing out to you that even if you are under 6 feet if your mechanics are good, your accuracy is there, etc… Hellur then you CAN get the SEC, PAC 12, etc…STATS???? If Tua had to play Kapolei, Kailua, Leleihua, Aiea, etc…. You think his stats would be good??? Dude enuff already. Lol. Now you can go back to your Xbox. Btw stop smoking that stuff. Bad fo yo health.

  26. Lee Boy November 12, 2015 8:05 am

Hahaha it is good to see these Kahuku fans become enlighten about My Crusaders. Like I said I been to the stadium and seen then play. Ah you guys forgot about our two studs OLBs and our MLB isn’t bad either. Tua Man is the man I have seen this kid tearinf defense appart and yes he can also run. I think he is faster than all your RBs except for Brown.

  27. AOK November 12, 2015 9:02 am

IMO, the point being argued are 2 totally different arguments. Milton is the superior HS player. Tua is the better college prospect. That simple. As for me, it’s Crusaders all day, everyday.
Yes, Iosefa is suspended this week. Not being cocky, but if we are to be victorious (like I believe we will–again IMO), Iosefa will be needed much more against Kahuku’s vaunted run O. We can get past Trojan Nation without Iosefa.

  28. 88 November 12, 2015 9:58 am

No one is being enlighten by anything. Kahuku will win the State title this year. All I’m saying is all Tagavailoa has on Milton is size. If Milton was the same size as Tagavailoa there is no doubt colleges would be knocking down his door. I mean how do you go to a QB camp and beat the top QBs in the country for MVP and only have UH and the military schools interested?

  29. Lee Boy November 12, 2015 10:13 am

@AOK- Did Iosefa get a two game suspension because he was suspended for the Punahou game. I think you only get a one game suspension for a BS targetting hit

  30. Good Story November 12, 2015 12:02 pm

    @Lee Boy
You are right. For BS hits only one game. But for legitimate ones, two games.

  31. AOK November 12, 2015 12:30 pm

    @Lee Boy, Good Story
He sat the ILH Final vs punahou, and now is sitting vs Mililani. That makes his 2 games suspension. It is what it is. Iosefa needs to know better than that.

  32. realistic November 12, 2015 1:01 pm

@Good Story it’s not hard to use your work computer (assuming you are not on welfare), your own computer, then a laptop and search for an open IP address (assuming you are smart enough to do it). The difference is I have the guts to say it. You just do it and hide like the coward you are. We all know those people are you.

The real joke is I have wasted over 100 hours of your time. Imagine if you got a raise to $7.50. Now you would $750 (before taxes) in your pocket. That would be enough money to buy a chromebook and a bowl of soup for you. Then you wouldn’t have to use your mom’s one. She can thank me later, haha.

    #stillwinning

  33. realistic November 12, 2015 1:04 pm

@GoBigRed I am just flabbergasted that you would go through all the trouble to save a measly $30.

  34. realistic November 12, 2015 1:07 pm

@GoBigRed – Cox Gigablast, Centurylink, Google…there are so many services now that offer 1gb speeds for downloads. But if you have to go through all the trouble to save $30, I highly doubt that you have the money to pay for speeds that costly. Now if you are allowed to trade your government cheese, now I believe you.

  35. Chaddap November 12, 2015 2:38 pm

@EwaEwa weren’t you the one all over Mililani and said we couldn’t beat some teams in the blue? I remember screen shorting ur comment. Nice to see you’re a changed man. Next time chaddap and wait until after to talk

  36. Good Story November 12, 2015 8:01 pm

    @Realistic
If I’ve wasted 100 hrs of my time. Then with your 50 names, that’s almost 5000 hrs of your time. By the way you keep spelling “whining” wrong. Now don’t say I didn’t help you.
