Kapaa clinches D-II football state berth

Kapaa clinched the Kauai Interscholastic Federation title and a berth into the Division II football state tournament with a 28-0 win over Waimea at Hanapepe Stadium on Saturday.

The Warriors, ranked No. 10 in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Top 10, improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the KIF.

In the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division I race, Kealakehe took a one-game lead over Hilo with a 30-29 win over the Vikings.
