Semifinals begin at 10 a.m., weigh-ins are complete and the wrestlers are on the mat warming up.

Carl Schroers just started overseeing his final state tournament reminding coaches that this isn’t life and death, bad calls happen to good people and when they do it is up to coaches to set the example by not freaking out. We’ll see if anyone was listening when the first athlete gets dinged on a judgement call.

Punahou’s Ian Ramirez just got dumped on his head by Kapolei’s Chance Ingalls and ran out of injury time. It was an accident, Ingalls’ first reaction was frustration for making the mistake, but it was more than a little bit scary. Ramirez walked off under his own power.

Pundyke up 2-0, moves it to 4-0 in the second. Sana cuts it in half with 1:55 left. Pundyke wins 7-2, dominating.

Kyla Aruda, King Kekaulike, def. Brianna Leong, Leilehua, Fall 3:26
Leong already down 8-0 in the first and in trouble. Aruda sticks her. Wow, what a way to begin the semis, Aruda robbed the state of a Pundyke vs. Leong rematch and is King Kekaulike’s first state finalist since 2001. Pundyke is a returning state champ.
