But behind the gritty running of tailback Ryan Ho, the second-ranked Warriors made sure it’ll take two losses to the Buffanblu to end their hopes of an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I title.
Ho ran for 147 yards and scored two touchdowns in the final 6 minutes as Kamehameha defeated No. 7 Saint Louis 21-7 last night at Aloha Stadium.
Kamehameha (9-1, 6-1) owns a one-game lead over Punahou, which it will play on Thursday in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Since the Warriors have a one-game lead and defeated the Buffanblu earlier this year, Kamehameha would have to lose twice to Punahou to miss out on the ILH championship and a berth in the state tournament.
“This is big when it gives us so much cushion,” Ho said. “And it’s the first time in 25 years we beat Saint Louis twice (in the same season) so, I mean, it’s great.”

London Amorin had more than 200 receiving yards in the first half and the Wolfpack rode the arm of P.J. Minaya to a victory over the Monarchs last night in the first game of an ILH doubleheader at Aloha Stadium.
Minaya finished 27-for-41 for 351 yards and five touchdowns as Pac-Five beat Damien twice in the same season for the first time since 2002.
Brenan Furtado finished with 222 rushing yards on only 17 carries and scored two touchdowns for the Monarchs (1-9, 1-7), who needs to beat ‘Iolani next week in order to avoid its worst season since a winless 2001 campaign.
Amorin finished with 11 catches for 222 yards and three touchdowns for the Wolfpack (6-5, 3-5), who reached six wins in a season for the first time in at least 10 years.
Damien’s Stanton Pilialoha threw for 117 yards and a touchdown, but was intercepted four times, including twice by Reyn Sugai.
Minaya finished with 406 total yards of offense. Pac-Five finishes its season next week with a game against Word of Life.
