Noah Brum’s first pass of the day is a 25-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Yamashita. After another Anuenue fumble, Brum finds Brandon Roberts on a post route for a touchdown pass on fourth down.

Falcons lead 14-0 with 9 minutes to go in the first quarter.

5:31 p.m.
Brum tosses his third touchdown pass, a 6-yard strike in the back of the end zone to Blaise Manabe. Kalani 21, Anuenue 0, 4:51, first quarter.

5:37 p.m.
Anuenue in a tight double-wing formation, sticking to the run game mostly. Kalani has 10 in the box. Ten. Na Koa are also milking the play clock with each snap, just waiting for the signal from the back judge (10-second warning). Smart.

Brum’s latest pass was picked off, short on a post route. Unusual since the Falcons opted to have the wind at their back for the first quarter.

Nice drive by Anuenue, capped with a 15-yard touchdown pass on play action by Kona Kelekolio. PAT run is stopped short. Kalani 21, Anuenue 6, 11:23, second quarter.

Cody Sakamoto scores on a 2-yard run. for the Falcons.

After recovering a squib pooch kick, Kalani scores again.
Roberts catches another post pass from Brum, this time throwing into the wind, and Kalani leads 34-6 with 9:46 left in the first half. That’s two touchdowns in a 13-second span.

Brum to Brice Kim on an 85-yard bomb. Kalani 48, Anuenue 6, 1:06, second quarter. This came after a goal-line stand by the Falcons.

Another Anuenue fumble deep in Kalani territory is recovered by the Falcons. Brandon Roberts, starting at QB in the second half, trots in from 1 yard out. Kalani 60, Anuenue 6.

Blowout Friday has been followed by Blowout Saturday. Just two Oahu games today, with Punahou over ‘Iolani 56-0 and this rout. Anuenue is an interesting team to watch, even with low numbers and a very, very young roster. How will they finish out the season and get ready for the 2014 season? Given their proud history, Coach Kealoha Wengler and his squad could and should be optimistic.

But if 8-man football takes root on Oahu in any way, Anuenue would be a good fit.
