Crusaders rise to 9-0 with 75-49 rout of Mustangs

Season 1 is coming to a close soon, which brings Saint Louis that much closer to the end of a sterling exhibition basketball effort.

The Crusaders overwhelmed Mustangs Basketball Club, 75-49, on Wednesday night at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletic Center. Senior Jydon “Boogie” Hall pumped in 22 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field as Saint Louis improved to 9-0 in exhibition play.

Junior Aiva Arquette tallied 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds with three steals. Malu Ing chipped in eight points as 10 of the 11 Crusaders got in the scoring column.

Saint Louis will host Buff Nation on Friday night. Buff Nation is comprised of Punahou players. No spectators are permitted and COVID-19 protocols are in effect. The game will be streamed live on Facebook Live, 6 p.m.

Season 1 ends next week. Saint Louis has games against Tar Heels, a team comprised of mostly Maryknoll players, and Le Jardin. Two more games against other club teams are tentatively scheduled.

“We’re trying to pack it in before we are done,” Crusaders Coach Dan Hale said.
