Oregon State offered sophomore Tausili Akana a football scholarship on Wednesday.

Hawaii, BYU, Utah, Arizona State and UNLV made offers to the 6-foot-4, 210-pound defensive end/linebacker earlier. Oregon State assistant coaches Jake Cookus and Legi Suiauona have been in contact with Akana, who transferred from Kamehameha to Wasatch (Utah) in July. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the postponement of football season in Hawaii until early 2021.

Wasatch, located in Heber City, suffered its first loss after three wins to open the season. The Wasps are 3-1 after the 36-10 loss to Pleasant Grove.

Before the season, Akana said he planned to return to Kamehameha after the fall semester. He will not be eligible to play football for the Warriors in the 2020-21 academic year.
