Notre Dame safety Alohi Gilman announced today that he will forego his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft.

The 2015 Kahuku alumnus, who made the Star-Advertiser All-State first team as a senior, played one season for Navy before sitting out a year and transferring to Notre Dame, where he played two full seasons.

Notre Dame finished the 2019 season with a 33-9 victory over Iowa State in the Camping World Bowl on Saturday. Gilman had eight tackles in the game to give him 74 for the season, ranking fourth on the Irish. He also added three tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, one interception and a sack.

Gilman was featured by the Star-Advertiser earlier this year and said he was on track to graduate in December. His younger brother, Alaka’i, is a senior at Punahou and signed to play at Stanford earlier this month.
