8:25: Kalaheo runs one last play from the McKinley 38 and it’s a field goal attempt. The kick is short. MCKINLEY WINS 6-3.

8:21: Kalaheo picks up a couple of first downs, but they just called their last timeout with 23 seconds left at the McKinley 48. Time is running out.


8:16: TOUCHDOWN MCKINLEY. The Tigers march right down the field and cap it with Khert Vincent-Saing‘s 1-yard rush. Devhon Fong‘s PAT is no good, but McKinley now leads 6-3 with 1:28 left.

8:10: McKinley calls timeout facing fourth-and-5 at the Kalaheo 43 with 3:29 left. With both teams having just one timeout left, this could be the game.

8:08: Kalaheo calls timeout as McKinley drives to the Mustangs’ 43, 3:48 left.

8:05: McKinley’s defense does its job, forcing a Kalaheo three-and-out and punt. After the punt, the Tigers have the ball on their own 20 after a touchback with 4:26 left. Both teams have two timeouts.

7:58: McKinley goes three-and-out and punts to its own 46 with 6:17 left. Kalaheo putting itself in pole position for its first victory.

7:54: Kainoa Ferguson knocks a 24-yard field goal for the game’s first score. Kalaheo up 3-0 with 8:43 left in the fourth. That may be all the points it needs to secure this thing. But there is still a lot of game left.

FOURTH QUARTER

7:42: End of the third. Still scoreless as Kalaheo faces second-and-16 on its own 30 to start the fourth.

7:33: McKinley goes three-and-out, but Tyler Sheidlin‘s punt is downed at the Kalaheo 1 with 3:17 left in the third.

7:29: Kalaheo can’t make much of the fumble and goes three-and-out. Still scoreless. McKinley looks to change that, starting from its own 25 with 5:09 left in the third.

7:22: McKinley FUMBLES on its own 49 yard line and the Mustangs recover, 8:25 to go in third.

7:20: The Mustangs go three-and-out and punt. McKinley has the ball on its own 38 with 9:49 left in the third quarter.

7:14: The second half is underway. Kalaheo will start from its own 19 and looks to break the scoreless tie.


THIRD QUARTER

6:56: McKinley runs out the clock and we’re scoreless at halftime. Kalaheo will receive to start the second half.

6:54: Kalaheo turns it over on downs at the McKinley 35 with 1:24 to go in the first half.

6:44: McKinley puts itself in a second-and-38 hole and can’t dig themselves out. Kalaheo gets the ball on its own 20 with 3:03 left in the half.

6:33: We’re still scoreless as Kalaheo goes three-and-out and punts. McKinley gets the ball back on its own 44 with 8:44 left in the second quarter.

6:27: McKinley elects to punt. The kick is boosted by the wind and BOOMED for a touchback. Kalaheo ball on its own 20.

SECOND QUARTER

6:25: End of the first. McKinley faces fourth-and-short from its own 37 to start the second.

6:20: Kalaheo puts together a drive but turns it over on downs at the McKinley 29, 1:48 to go in the first.

6:13: McKinley picks up a couple of first downs exclusively via rush but are forced to punt. Kalaheo starts from its own 42 with 6:25 left in the first.

6:05: McKinley wins the toss and elects to receive. The Tigers will start from their own 19 after the kickoff.

FIRST QUARTER


6:00 p.m.: Welcome to Kailua High for tonight’s neutral site contest between McKinley and Kalaheo. Both teams are 0-4 entering the matchup, so one of these teams will be getting their first victory today. Who will it be?
