GAME NIGHT 8/10: ‘Iolani/Moanalua

Javar to Lee for 15 yards on third and 5. Javar keeps it for 22 yards to the ‘Iolani 27. Timeout with 34.3 seconds left. Incomplete pass. Javar keeper to the 14. Incomplete, 13.7 seconds. Incomplete, 8.9. Third and 10 at the ‘Iolani 14. Javar keeps it and slides at the 10. Timeout with 4.3 left. ‘Iolani takes a timeout as Griffin Motas lines up a 27-yard field goal. ‘Iolani uses another timeout just before Motas drills it through. Motas sets up one more time. Here we go again. Motas drills a line drive and IT’S GOOD from 27. Moanalua with the walk off.

‘Iolani starts with a delay of game, hands it off twice followed by another delay and punts with 1:48 left. Penalty on the return pushes Moanalua back to its 31. 1:39 left.

Javar converts on fourth and 2 from the Moanalua 47 to extend the drive and four hits more in a row to drive to the ‘Iolani 16. But a mishandled exchange in the backfield hits the ground and ‘Iolani’s Shayden Molina recovers. Raiders ball with 3:53 left.

Chong converts on a third down, but the Moanalua defense comes up with a sack and the Raiders punt. Moanalua takes over at its 20. 9:03 Q4.

Moanalua starts at the ‘Iolani 48 after the free kick. Javar picks up 29 yards in two completions. Darius Johnson with 13 on his first carry. A touchdown pass is called back by holding. Moanalua has second and 19 at the ‘Iolani 25 to start the fourth quarter. Javar scrambles for 18 to bring up third and 1. Moanalua goes three-and-out and the punt is downed at the ‘Iolani 15. Raiders lose 11 yards on two runs followed by a bad snap into the end zone. Chong tosses it out of the back of the end zone for a SAFETY. 1:40 Q3.

Javar takes a sack for a loss of 18 back to the Moanalua 1 and Na Menehune punt from the 6. ‘Iolani takes over at the Moanalua 38. Two plays later Bantolina goes up the middle for a 23-yard TOUCHDOWN. PAT pass failed. ‘Iolani takes its first lead. 4:43 Q3.

Lanakila Pei returns the kickoff to the ‘Iolani 41. Hedani breaks loose on first down and takes it 59 yards for the TOUCHDOWN. PAT good. 6:50 Q3.

Moanalua gets the ball to open the second half. Javar scrambles for 13 yards on third and 12. Javar completes eight consecutive passes, three going to Kealohi, and finishes with a 1-yarder to Dacryes Domingo for a TOUCHDOWN. PAT failed. 7:13 Q3

Moanalua starts at its 20. Javar completes four passes to Rudy Kealohi for 42 yards and picks up 14 on a keeper to give Moanalua first and goal at the 1. ‘Iolani starts at its 35. Raiders mix run and pass to drive to the Moanalua 29 to end the first quarter. Brock Hedani’s 12-yard run gives ‘Iolani first-and-goal at the 10. Chong looks deep on first down and its intercepted by Moanalua’s Christian Sison. Na Menehune take over at the ‘Iolani 27. Moanalua drives to the 11 but gets pushed back by intentional grounding and holding penalites. On third and 22, RJ Javar goes over the middle for Lawsen Lee for the 23-yard TOUCHDOWN. So’onaoso Saole Teixeira carries the ball on the first four plays for Moanalua. Drive stalls on a sack by Joshua Miyazawa and the Moanalua punt is downed inside the ‘Iolani 5.
