Lahainaluna and ‘Iolani have been mainstays in Division II football from the start. One difference: ‘Iolani has seven state titles in D-II while Lahainaluna has come so close, yet hasn’t reached the pinnacle yet. The Lunas last reached the final in 2012, losing to the Raiders 36-33.

Could this be the year? Lahainaluna coach Garrett Tihada and ‘Iolani coach Wendell Look talked about the title game at the HHSAA press conference on Tuesday.
