10:50: Bayoden tacks on another Hurricanes touchdown, a 1-yard fumble recovery, thanks to a high Castle snap on third down that Kapolei recovered at the 2. Gomez carried and fumbled, but Bayoden recovered and ran it in. Fonoti kicked the extra point. KAPOLEI 53, CASTLE 7, 1:40 to go in game.
10:42: Zechariah Kanahelemone gets into the act for the Hurricanes, intercepting a JUdd pass and going 26 yards for a TD. Fonoti kicks the extra point. KAPOLEI 46, CASTLE 7, 5:30 to go in the game.
10:37: In the fourth quarter, there’s a trade of puts along with an interception of a Judd pass by Kapolei’s Isaiah Mareko. Also, Kapolei loses the ball on downs.
10:29: Mason Gomez is Kapolei’s third QB of the game.
10:25: A 39-yard pass from Bailey to Elijah Badoyen sets up Bailey’s 1-yard TD pass to Keoki Kaluhiwa. Fonoti’s kick missed. KAPOLEI 39, CASTLE 7, 11:55 to go in fourth quarter.

10:19: Elijah Badoyen’s 39-yard catch and run gives Kapolei the ball on the Knights’ 5.
10:12: Cheyden Costa kicks the extra point. KAPOLEI 33, CASTLE 7, 3:27 to go in the third quarter.
10:10: Judd finds Kanekulani Giron for a 30-yard score to put Castle on the board. Awaiting the extra point.
10:04: Twice in a row, Kapolei defenders intercept a Judd pass and return it for a TD. BUT … both times the hurrianes were called for interference. A third pass interference penalty in a row brings the ball to the Kapolei 30. This is the closest the Knights have been to the Hurricanes end zone.
10:03: Samuel Judd is in at QB, Castle’s third of the game.
10:01: On fourth and goal form the 5, Bailey throws a 5-yard TD toss to Ikari Stokes. Fonoti kicks the extra point. KAPOLEI 33, CASTLE 0, 4:22 to go in the third quarter.
9:53: Both teams punt it away. A 7-yard Castle punt gives the Hurricanes possession at the Knights’ 22.
9:48: Noa Bailey is in at QB for Kapolei. He is sacked by Castle’s Chaz Ciacci on his first play.
9:46: With Austyn Acosta now in at QB, Castle picks up just five yards on its first possession of the second half and punts.

9:24: As the first half runs out, Fonoti tries a 37-yard field goal and misses. Running into the kicker is called. He tries again from 32 yards and misses again. Running into the kicker is called again and he makes his third try from 27 yards. KAPOLEI 26, CASTLE 0, halftime.
9:07: Sheldon McLeod’s 50-yard catch and run of a Rapis pass nearly goes for a TD, but Punivai makes a saving tackle. One play later, Waiolama runs into the end zone from 1 yard out. Fonoti adds the extra point. KAPOLEI 23, CASTLE 0, 2:06 remaining in the first half.
9:02: Punivai’s 14-yard run gets the Knights going, but three plays later, Kapolei’s Liam McMoore intercepts a Giron pass.
9:00: Zion Jabez-Rabello rumbles for 29 yards to set up what turned out to be two Kapolei touchdowns — both called back due to penalties. A third “apparent” touchdown was not a TD at all. A Rapis pass to Stribling covered 15 yards, but he fumbled and the ball went into the end zone and out the side of the end zone for a touchback.
8:52: Due to Tao Tu’ulima’s sack of Giron on third down, Castle punts for the fourth time.
8:47: Zion Jabez-Robello rushes for 17 yards to the Castle 13, and on the next play, Rapis scrambles around and patiently waits for Stribling to get open in the end zone before throwing a 13-yard scoring dart. Fonoti kicks the extra point. KAPOLEI 16, CASTLE 0, 9:03 remaining in the second quarter.
8:45: Waiolama gets the call on second down and picks up 7 for a Kapolei first down.
8:41: The Knights complete a pass, but their fourth drive stalls and they punt for the third time.
8:39: Another false start penalty pushes Castle back before the first snap of the drive.
8:38: Rapis’ pass falls incomplete. Castle takes over at its own 20.
8:37: Hurricanes are going for it on fourth down and 4 from the Knights’ 20.
8:35: A Rapis screen pass to Stribling goes for 24 yards to the Castle 26.

8:32: The Knights’ third drive fizzles and they punt. Kapolei takes over at its own 48.
8:28: A 5-yard gain by the Knights’ Punivai is offset by false start penalties on the next two plays. Castle is facing a third down and 15.
8:25: A Rapis to Stribling pass on fourth down comes up 2 yards short, and now Kapolei is punting for the first time.
8:20: The Knights lose a yard on a third and 3 and are punting.
8:17: Two Pono Giron passes, one to Kanakulani Giron and another to Elijah Catrett pick up the Knights’ second first down of the game.
8:14: A Rapis pass from to Stribling goes for 35 yards to the Castle 10. Two plays later, Rapis finds Sinai-Taheed Rabello for a 10-yard score. Fonoti misses the extra point. KAPOLEI 9, CASTLE 0, 6:15 to go in first quarter.
8:12: Knights punter Bruce Pakele takes a high snap and can’t get a punt off. He runs for 12 yards, but not enough for a first down.
8:11: Castle facing a third and long after a first down on a pass from Pono Giron to Kanakulani Giron for 12 yards.

8:02: Rapis is sacked by Castle’s Braxton Wilcox. Ball is at the 13.
8:00: Running back Ezekiel Waiolama takes the first snap 66 yards to the Castle 2. A penalty moves the ball back to the 7.

7:57: Castle won the toss and deferred to the second half. Kapolei elected to receive. Castle will defend the North end zone.

7:26: Last season, Kapolei won on the field 41-7, but had to forfeit the OIA Division I game three days later due to an ineligible player that the Hurricanes self-reported. It ended up as a Castle 2-0 win.
7:24: We are 22 minutes from kickoff. In the junior varsity game, Kapolei defeated Castle 27-6.
