Cabanban and Vierra are 4-time ILH champs

Corey Cabanban and Zion Grace Vierra are four-time ILH wrestling champions. They did it with finals victories at Kamehameha on Thursday.

Cabanban of Saint Louis, Hawaii Prep World’s No. 1 pound-for-pound wrestler, defeated Punahou’s Casen Watanabe 9-3 and had a vicious takedown late in the match for the final two points.

“It feels good. I’m ready to go for that fourth (state) title,” Cabanban said. “The season’s been long but it went by so fast. It’s my senior year so I’ve got to make it worthwhile.”

Cabanban plans to take a visit to Iowa State on a recruiting trip after the season.

Vierra defeated Warriors teammate Jordan Yagi by fall at 2:51.
