The best wrestlers in the state put on quite a show for the television cameras at the Chevron state championships on Saturday, but the best moment may have come before the broadcast began. The athletes had a two hour break before the finals began, and three of them spent the downtime starting a dance that kept the crowd on its feet until someone put a stop to it by asking the wrestlers to take off their shoes when they were on the mat.
Someone captured it and put it on youtube. I expect Paul Honda will put his videos on here shortly, watch out for Tristan Ludiazo vs. Dayton Furuta, Jordan Fuamatu vs. Maake Muti and Carly Jaramillo vs. Zoe Hernandez along with the excellence of Josh Terao, Blake Cooper, Braydon Akeo, Teshya Alo and Lalelei Mataafa.
But until then, check out the warmup act:
My mom had recorded this video.
Thank her for me, Tao. Although at the time I was thinking: turn the music off, some of us are trying to work over here!
