Notes: Estrella goes for her third in three years and she opens by nearly tackling Realin onto the other mat … Realin comes back and has a hold of a single leg but it’s whistle dead … 0-0 after 1 and Realin is down to start the second period … Realin giving Estrella all she can handle but can’t escape and it’s 0-0 going to the third … Realin has a shoulder of Estrella start to pin back but Estrella escapes out of it and gets a point followed by a takedown. Huge sequence there … Restart with 40 seconds to go and Realin gets the escape … 3-1 … Realin goes for it all but Estrella stuffs it and gets the two points and that is that. Estrella makes it three state titles in a row but Realin with a helluva match against one of the very best pound-for-pound.

Four more champions in this semifinal, but Estrella is the decided big dog. She is 10-0 in her state career with back-to-back titles and trying to make it three as a junior. That sets up a difficult road for Chan, who has already matched her two wins from last year and is in line for her first state placing. OIA and ILH champs meet in the other semifinal. Realin is on a seven match winning streak in the Blaisdell after losing in the first round last year but fighting back to take third. Paulino fell short last year but gained valuable experience with four matches.
