I don’t dare say a best-of-three match can possibly be an instant classic. I don’t. There have been too many incredible battles on the hardwood in best-of-fives.

But this? Especially the first set, this is what great volleyball competition and rivalry are about. Some of the best rallies I’ve seen this season, even in a long time. And to see it in a great environment was icing on the cake. That crowd at ‘Iolani was loud and awesome.

Punahou made a match of it with a strong turnaround, never losing its cool.
