In Hawaii, some of the best high school competition you might see will be in midseason. Or in the playoffs. Such is the nature of the beast. The ILH provides great athletic (and academic) competition. Not every good team qualifies for the state tournament.

What fans get is a state-tournament level volleyball match in October. It was a semifinal-quality match, really. If you look at it that way, it’s a treat. This was a treat.
