Kauai-KSH time switch due to auto accident

An auto accident involving a van rented to transport some members of the Kauai High girls soccer team caused the change in time of the Red Raiders’ game against Kamehameha-Hawaii on Friday, according to a source.

There were injuries in the accident, but the extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

Kauai (11-2-1) was supposed to play its Division II state tournament semifinal game against Kamehameha-Hawaii (11-4) at 3 p.m. at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. The game was instead moved to Friday at 7 p.m. at Waipahu High School. Apparently, it would have been too difficult for the Red Raiders to make the earlier time.

The winner of that game will meet four-time defending champion Hawaii Prep — a 3-0 semifinal winner over Kapaa — for the D-II title at 5 p.m. Saturday at Waipio Peninsula.
