
‘Iolani’s Kristen Hori is the Gatorade Hawaii Girls Soccer Player of the year.
The award recognizes athletic excellence, academic achievement and character, according to the Gatorade Company.
Hori, a 5-foot3 senior striker, scord 14 goals and had 21 assists, leading the Raiders (12-1-3) to the Division I title game, where they lost to Mililani.
Hori, who has a 4.33 grade-point average, was also the ILH offensive player of the year and a first-team, All-State selection by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. She finished her high school career with 21 goals and 25 assists.
“Kristen had a fantastic senior season and was a threat all year long,” Missy Moore, the head coach of ILH rival Kamehameha, said. “She was very consistent in every game she played.”
Hori will attend Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where she will play soccer beginning this fall.
