MAY 7, 1957: Dan Kashiwamura leads potent Iolani attack

On this date in 1957, Iolani’s powerful offense brought Punahou back down to earth.

Dan Kashiwamura had three hits and the Raiders scored seven runs in the third inning to beat the Buffanblu 10-6. The loss dropped Punahou into a three-way tie for first with Mid-Pacific and McKinley. Jimmy Doole and Punahou recovered to win the league for the third straight year.


Kashiwamura grew up to become a successful coach at Farrington.
