Correction: Kaiser roster mixup

My apologies to the Kaiser Cougars.
Due to an almost 100-percent incorrect Kaiser roster given at the door last night, the wrong statistics were listed for most of the Cougars in this morning’s story about their loss to Moanalua.
Nikki Taylor had 15 kills. That was correct.
However …
CORRECTED
>> It was Haley Durham, a 6-foot- junior, who had six kills.
>> It was Courtney Phillips who had five kills.
In the roster provided at the door, Durham was listed as No. 33 and Phillips was listed as No. 12. WRONG.
Durham wore No. 14 last night. Phillips wore 30.
In all, nine of the 11 players on the “real” roster have different numbers from the roster distributed at the door. There was also a player not listed (No. 20).
A parent kindly e-mailed this morning and informed me about the misidentification. I checked with a Kaiser roster online and found an almost complete difference, corroborating the parent’s information.
Goes to show, trust nothing but the source. From now on, I go back to my usual way of getting names and jersey numbers right — from the coach. And I thought I was doing all the coaches a favor by leaving them alone in pre-game and using the resources available.
NEVER AGAIN.
Please forgive me, coaches, if I lightly interrogate you or one of your assistants before the next match just to make sure I don’t have the wrong roster again.
