Team Piko wins national title in New Orleans

Oahu-based Team Piko girls volleyball club defeated Asics Mavs 25-17, 25-11 for the national title at the USAV Girls Junior Nationals in New Orleans, La., today.

The team won the 14-Under crown. Their head coach is Lehua Kadooka. Team Piko qualified for the championship bracket after five pool-play matches on days 1 and 2. On day 3, they emerged after two matches as a qualifier for the championship (gold) bracket. Team Piko won its quarterfinal, semifinal and championship matches today.

It is the third national title for the club and their first since 2012.
