An update on ‘Iolani forward Alex Masaquel, who was injured in a game against Punahou on Friday.
We ran a short note about the junior hoopster in this morning’s prep notebook. She responded via Facebook after my deadline, so here’s what she sent on Monday night.
“I’m doing great! I had my surgery on saturday where the doctors had to put a titanium rod into my leg from my knee all the way down to my ankle. The pain is tolerable but whenever it starts to get too sore i just take some pain medications. no big deal.
“The doctors discharged me yesterday so I’m currently just cruising it at home, getting plenty of sleep and eating a lot. The doctor said I can’t go to school this whole week so my friends are going to help me catch up on school work. but I will be at the game on Wednesday against Kamehameha cheering my team on. It should be a good one!”
