Wow, this was an ugly typo on my part. In a game story from Friday’s edition, I wrote (somehow) that Mid-Pacific shot “2 percent” in its 45-38 win over Maryknoll for the St. Francis/Merv Lopes Classic girls title.
MPI was 18-for-60, which is 30 percent, not 2 percent. The Owls have come a long way since that blowout loss at ‘Iolani last month. When their transition game is flowing, they’re as quick as any team in the state.
