It is a great view. would be nice if there were able to get artificial turf.

Waianae, Kahuku and Kailua all need turf upgrades to their fields.

I heard they can’t upgrade the files because of the coral beneath it.

I agree with the individual above, Kahuku and Waianae need upgrades quick. Once the track and field is upgraded, I can see the OIA or even state hosting meets out west.

Been to many different stadiums and football fields and the beach and beautiful view at Wai’anae High School is just breathtaking. Pray that one day they can upgrade it to be even better. It’s due!!!

It was an honor playing on this field !! My team used to stop and try to see the “green light” almost every practice. The view will never get old

  19. To Da Hale October 15, 2019 11:25 pm

When it comes to high school football, nothing beats Waianae and then Kahuku.

Of course, both may need a new turf field and track, but being there just has that great feeling of high school football (if you know what I mean).

Add Field Turf & it’s a wrap; Waianae hands down!
Kamehameha Kapalama has a nice view but nobody wants to see all that houses and buildings.

This field & background is awesome so beautiful, soothing & relaxing. When there’s a sporting event it’s always a different scenery & you can hear the crowdʻs comments on what a sight to see.

Beautiful sunsets, rolling surf, beautiful seascapes, buttttttttttt the field is hard and weeded. Come on OIA, Waianae and Kahuku needs artifical turf if not put in quality sod. Shame on DOE. shame on City, shame on STATE. Put all the opala dumps and oil burning plants on west side then give the kids, weeds. Outstanding.

Waianae High schools Raymond Torri field. Some of the best sunsets in the world and the only field where you can hear the waves crashing on the reef or see dolphins, whales and turtles swim by. My fondest memory of that field was during my senior year in fitness and weights class when the entire class stopped during a football session to watch 2 humpback whales breaching no more than a few hundred yards from the field. By far THE BEST field ever.
