VIDEO: Saint Louis vs. Punahou highlights

The best — and closest — Open Division showdown involving defending state champion Saint Louis in the first half of the season was a zany exchange of big plays by Punahou’s offense, defense and special teams with the Crusaders’ uneven defensive performance.

Then Crusaders defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele emerged with 9:01 to go in the second quarter, and everything changed. Down 21-14, the Crusaders took command of the line of scrimmage en route to a 35-28 victory at Aloha Stadium.
