It was an offer Hilo coach Kaeo Drummondo didn’t expect. His answer to the organizers of the Los Angeles Rams 7v7 tournament was an emphatic yes. It was the same for Kapaa and Lahainaluna. Hilo won the Division I state title in 2017 and finished second in ’18. Lahainaluna is a three-time D-II state champion, and Kapaa was the D-II runner-up.

Drummondo chatted after Saturday’s tournament with Hawaii Prep World about the Rams’ generosity, changes in the BIIF and the Vikings’ 10 returning starters on the defensive unit.
