Utah State makes offer to Mililani’s Malepeai

Utah State offered Mililani running back Vavae Malepeai a scholarship this week, according to the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance website.

Malepeai, a key comoponent in the Trojans’ run to the Division I state championship, will play his senior season for Mililani this fall.


As a junior, 6-foot, 195-pound running back rushed for 1,244 yards and 23 touchdowns and added 194 receiving yards with a TD.


As a sophomore, Malepeai gained 1,375 rushing yards with 20 TDs, when Mililani finished as the D-I state runner-up.
