That’s seven offers now for Kahuku’s Aliki Vimahi, who is challenging Saint Louis LB Isaac Slade-Matautia for status as the top defensive prospect out of Hawaii in 2017. Kapolei’s Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, who is up to six offers after hearing from Utah State last week, is also in that category.
Vimahi had strictly been a target for West Coast schools, but the offer from Georgia Tech out of the ACC could mean his stock could continue to rise rapidly if others BCS conferences get involved.
Radford’s Jordan Walker adds his second offer as Colorado State joins UNLV as schools interested in the Rams linebacker.
There are a total of 17 high school prospects from Hawaii for the class of 2017 to receive known offers. Punahou DL Miki Suguturaga joined the list of snagging an offer from Army over the weekend.
Last season, 22 high school seniors signed letters of intent to Division I schools.
Afemui got his 3rd offer from Washington State.
