Radford junior wide receiver Thomas Reid III is on the radar of college football coaches.

Ten days ago, Reid received his first scholarship offer, from Hawaii.

Today, Nevada, via assistant coach and former UH quarterback Nick Rolovich, became the second university to make an offer to Reid.

“I’m just glad Rolo saw it, too,” Radford coach Fred Salanoa texted this afternoon.

Reid caught 33 passes for 619 yards and seven touchdowns last fall. Salanoa has already compared the 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete to former Radford, UH and NFL wide receiver Ashley Lelie.

Reid ran a 4.5 40-yard dash at the Nike Sparq Combine and had a hand-held 4.4 at the Blue-Grey Combine, both held in Honolulu during the winter.

At the Honolulu Marathon Invitational on Saturday, Reid ran the 400-meter dash in 51.3 seconds (second place).

Reid has a 3.3 grade-point average.

Rolo knows he needs to get some good local players when he takes over at UH next year.
