For the first time this fall, Punahou has landed in the MaxPreps Fab 50 national rankings released on Tuesday.
Coming off a 35-32 win over Saint Louis, the Buffanblu are at No. 50 in the weekly list. Booker T. Washington (Fla.) is ranked No. 1.
At 7-0 overall, including a road win over perennial CIF power Helix (Calif.), Punahou moved up one notch in the MaxPreps West Region Top 20 to No. 11. The Buffanblu are right behind Bishop Gorman (Nev.) and ahead of powerhouses Servite (Calif.) and Long Beach Poly (Calif.).
East (Utah) is 19th in the West Region rankings. East defeated Kahuku last month in Salt Lake City.
The top team in the West, De La Salle (Calif.), remained at No. 5 in the national rankings.
