Power scrimmages anyone?
Well, if you don’t think Oahu high school football is that close, think again.
Teams statewide have been preparing for the fall season throughout the spring and now summer. The first scheduled scrimmage is 33 days a way (Thursday, June 28), slightly more than month. A week after that, real nonleague games begin (Friday, Aug. 5). And then it’s one week later until the regular-season games start (Friday, Aug. 12).
The Oahu regular-season schedule (not including ILH games because the league has not released its schedule yet) can be found here: http://bit.ly/2958rWe
For those who can’t wait until the official start, you can see blockbuster matchups like Mililani at Kahuku or Punahou vs. Kahuku in the scrimmage format.
Below is a list of scrimmages that include some of the teams (Punahou, Kahuku, Kamehameha, Mililani, Farrington) that work their way into the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top 10 in most years. Hawaii Prep World is in the process of finding out all of the 29 Oahu teams’ scheduled scrimmages.
