Kapolei left guard Samson Kaleikini will visit Montana and Oregon State this month.
Kaleikini, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound senior, has scholarship offers to play football from both schools. He will visit Montana on the weekend of Jan. 15, then Oregon State on the weekend of Jan. 22, Hurricanes coach Darren Hernandez said.
“He’s a big, raw kid,” Hernandez said of Kaleikini, who was hampered by foot and calf injuries as a junior. “Everybody knew all we could do was run, and he’s still quick off the ball.”
Kaleikini projects as an offensive tackle in college.
“They like how how he gets to the second level and blocks downfield,” Hernandez said, adding that Oregon State is interested in redshirting him in his first year.
“They want him to beef up to 300 pounds.”
Oregon has expressed interest in a visit by Kaleikini at the end of the month, but has not offered a scholarship yet, Hernandez said.
Kaleikini’s exact height is 6-4 and 3/4ths of an inch.
