Molokai 3-peats as MIL 8-man champion

Molokai won its third straight Maui Interscholastic League 8-man football title on its home field Saturday with a 73-38 victory over Lanai in the league’s championship game.

The Farmers (5-1) went into the game as the league’s regular-season champion. The Pine Lads (3-2), playing in their first title game, ended up as league runners-up.

In other Neighbor Islands football news, Hilo (6-1, 5-1) and Kealakehe (4-4, 4-2) wrapped up spots in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division I championship game, which is scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 20-21. The Vikings beat Keaau 63-6 on Friday, and the Waveriders got past Waiakea 35-24 on Saturday.


Also, Kauai High (4-2, 3-1) increased its lead in the Kauai Interscholastic Federation to one full game over Waimea (3-2, 2-2) after beating Kapaa 30-0 on Saturday.
