KHON’s Sam Spangler has reported via Twitter that Mililani quarterback McKenzie Milton has orally committed to the University of Hawaii.

Milton was offered a scholarship by UH more than a week ago. When Hawaii Prep World reported on Thursday that he had been offered, Milton expressed a willingness to be patient. He is just a junior. He also expressed the knowledge that colleges aren’t often patient with QB prospects.

The 6-foot, 160-pound slinger accounted for 4,141 yards and 47 touchdowns this season as Mililani (13-0) captured the Division I state championship.

verbal commits don’t really matter. if he’s REALLY as good as some people think he is (good as in how good he is as a major D-I prospect versus an exceptional high school qb), we’ll see what he does next year when offers from power-5 schools come in.
