Mililani gets first player named 2020 Polynesian Bowl All-Star

Mililani’s Shane Kady has been named a 2020 Polynesian Bowl All-Star.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound defensive end is the first Trojan to be selected to the game this year.

Kady announced his commitment to Oregon State in June, choosing the Beavers over an offer sheet of Arizona, Army, BYU, Fresno State, Hawaii, San Diego State, UNLV and Utah State. He is ranked as the 14th-best senior prospect in the islands by 247Sports.

Mililani alums to have played in the Polynesian Bowl include Darius Muasau (2019), Scottie Agasiva (2018), Noah Williams (2018), Jalen Tuivaiave-Olomua (2018) and Andrew Valladares (2017).

Kady is the 10th player currently enrolled in high school in Hawaii selected to the game, joining Saint Louis linebackers Jordan Botelho and Nick Herbig and defensive tackle Stanley McKenzie, Punahou defensive back Alaka’i Gilman and offensive lineman Solatoa Moea’i, Saint Louis receivers Roman Wilson and Matt Sykes, Kahuku offensive lineman Micah Soliai-Howlett and Kapolei defensive end Maceal Afaese.

Another player from Hawaii will be announced as a Polynesian Bowl All-Star later today.

The 2020 Polynesian Bowl will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, at Aloha Stadium featuring 100 of the best high school football players in the country. The majority of the players will be of Polynesian ancestry.
