Mililani is ranked No. 4 in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Football Top 10, and — despite a playoff bye last week — jumped over No. 1 Punahou in the MaxPreps national computer rankings released Sunday.
The Trojans (7-1) rose 26 spots to No. 119.
Punahou (8-0), after a 26-23 comeback win over No. 5 Kamehameha last Friday, dropped 11 spots in the national poll to No. 128.
No. 2 Saint Louis (6-1), the Buffanblu’s opponent this Saturday at Aloha Stadium, is ranked No. 196 nationally. Punahou can clinch the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I title and a state berth with a win Saturday. A Crusaders’ victory would bring the two teams back for another game the following week for the championship.
Mililani hosts Moanalua (4-5) in an Oahu Interscholastic Association quarterfinal game on Saturday. On Oct. 2, the Trojans defeated Na Menehune 60-36 in Moanalua in the regular-season finale for both teams.
