Mariota to continue work with Polynesian Bowl

The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame and Tennessee Titans quarterback and Saint Louis alumnus Marcus Mariota announced today that Mariota’s Motiv8 Foundation will serve as a presenting sponsor for the Polynesian Bowl.

The Polynesian Bowl is a high school all-star game for seniors that will take place Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at Aloha Stadium. It will be broadcast live to the mainland on CBS Sports Network.

Mariota established the Motiv8 Foundation to create and support educational programs and athletic activities that provide an alternative outlet for youth.

The Polynesian Bowl is in its third year of existence and recently announced a partnership with Nike to provide footwear, apparel and accessories to the approximately 100 players who will be selected to play in the game.

“Motiv8 is very proud to continue our partnership with the Polynesian Bowl,” Mariota said in a press release. “Our mission is exactly what our name says – to motivate young people to dream big through education and athletics. This is what the Polynesian Bowl does and why we strongly support them.”

Seven Hawaii high school seniors have been invited to the game. They are: OL Enokk Vimahi (Kahuku), DL Faatui Tuitele (St. Louis), OL Julius Buelow (Kapolei), OL/DL Sama Pa’ama (Kaimuki) and OL Duke Clemens, LB Maninoa Tufono and K Tim Horn (Punahou).

Approximately 20 more kids from Hawaii will be selected to the game over the course of the season.

Hawaii Prep World and Cover2, a weekly high school football show on KHON2 hosted by Rob DeMello, will announce the selections from Hawaii every Thursday beginning in September.
